Sega Genesis 32X

Since the Sega CD proved to not be as popular as Sega had hoped they then introduced another 32-bit attachment for the Genesis that used cartridges known as the Sega Genesis 32X in November of 1994. The Sega Genesis 32X attachment retailed for $159 to very little success and was discontinued in September of 1995. However, the addon did offer a small handful of titles that totaled a little over 30 games. The most notable being Star Wars Arcade and Virtua Racing Deluxe. Also, several Sega CD games were reissued as Sega CD 32X such as Night Trap and Corpse Killer. These games required both the Sega CD and 32X to offer enchanced graphical versions of these titles. Even though it was not very popular, the Sega Genesis 32X has became a collector's item due to a relatively low number of 600,000 units sold.
