The system is considered the best selling console of its time and reached a total of over 61 million units sold. The Nintendo Entertainment System set not only the standard for controller layout for modern gaming but the now standard business model of software liscensing for third-party developers. The Nintendo Entertainment System has one of the largest library of games and is known for creating one of the most recognizable icons in video game history, Mario. The pack-in game of Super Mario Bros. sold over 40 million copies. However, the most popular bundle was the Action Set that included the system, two controllers, the zapper, and a cartridge that contained both Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt; the Nintendo Entertainment System bundle retailed at $149.99.
